Those who have been waiting for The Sims 4 to arrive on Mac need not wait any longer. Earlier today an announcement was made about the game’s first paid DLC and buried within that announcement was the confirmation that The Sims 4 for Mac will be released next month. Took the developers long enough, many would agree, as now the wait begins for the launch.
It merits mentioning here that even though Electronic Arts has said that The Sims 4 for Mac will be released in February 2015, no confirmed release date has been provided as yet. My guess is that this information will be made public a week or so before the release.
According to Kotaku which spoke to a few people at EA about this, the Mac version of this game is going to be “priced similarly” to the PC version. Those PC owners who currently own a copy will not be required to pay again on Mac, they’ll receive a copy on OS X for free.
The DLC initially mentioned in this post has been released today. The “Outdoor Retreat” Game Pack is available for purchase now for $19.99. It will allow players to take their Sims to Granite Falls to visit and explore the all-new destination.
