T-Mobile Announces New Simply Prepaid Plans

T-Mobile today announced a new set of plans called Simply Prepaid. As the name suggests these are for prepaid subscribers and happen to be similar to the carrier’s Simple Choice postpaid plans. With these new plans T-Mobile evidently wants to improve its position as a prepaid carrier, and there’s a good possibility of that happening, it has been picking up subscribers from rivals at a fairly decent rate over the past few quarters.

The new Simply Prepaid plans from T-Mobile start at just $40 per month. For the base plan subscribers get unlimited talk, text and data with a set allowance of 1GB of 4G LTE data. $50 and $60 per month plans are available as well which bring the same with set data allowance of 3GB and 5GB of 4G LTE data respectively.

Subscribers will also be able to use Wi-Fi calling at no extra charge. T-Mobile’s announcement doesn’t mention if Simply Prepaid subscribers are going to get benefits like international data and music streaming like Simple Choice postpaid customers do. This should become evident when these new plans go into effect.

A look at the fine print shows that on these new plans data speeds will be restricted to a maximum of 8Mbps. Furthermore benefits like Data Stash will not be offered. T-Mobile will let customers subscribe to these plans through its website and retail stores starting January 25th.
