SilentHawk Hybrid-Electric Military Motorcycle Could Be Something Out Of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Logos Technologies was on the receiving end of a Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) award from DARPA (the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency), where the money injected would be able to help them go ahead with the continued development of the SilentHawk military motorcycle, which is being worked on alongside its partner, California’s Alta Motors (formerly BRD).

When the SilentHawk is ready to rock and roll, one might think that this particular motorcycle would hail from a fictional world such as that of Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D, where it would enable small, distributed military teams to traverse long distances in a jiffy – as well as stealthy manner, of course, across harsh enemy terrain. DARPA’s expectations for the SilentHawk would be for it to meet the following standards: high performance, efficiency and military utility. The prototype itself will merge Alta’s current RedShift MX electric motocross bike with Logos Technologies’ proven quiet, multi-fueled hybrid-electric power system.

It has been described to offer a “quiet, all-wheel drive capability at extended range in a lightweight, rugged, single-track vehicle would support the successful operations in extreme terrain conditions and contested environments.” Sounds like this is the stealth bike that superheroes have been waiting for all this while, right?
