[CES 2015] So, all of the gluttony during the recent holiday season is about to come home to roost in the battle for middle earth – that is, your waistline has started to show signs of expansion, claiming new territory that you never knew you had before, and at the same time blocking the view of your toes as you look downward. It is time to kickstart your exercise plan, and what better way to do so than with some music to keep you company? Sennheiser has revealed a new range of SPORTS headphones this CES with the audio specialist offering the MX 686 SPORTS, CX 686 SPORTS, PMX 686 SPORTS and OCX 686 SPORTS models.
These headphones are touted to deliver the perfect fusion of sound, performance and ergonomic design, targeting those who have a passion for sport. Sporting high-tech materials that have been thoughtfully chosen beforehand to deliver comfort, water resistance, durability and hygiene, expect the new SPORTS headphones to offer energizing sound with an excellent fit, not to mention accompanied by significantly reduced noise from wind or from contact with clothes.
Regardless of which model you select, you will find that it comes with an integrated smartphone remote and microphone, paving the way for easy control of volume, tracks and calls when you sweat it out. The MX 686 SPORTS and PMX 686 SPORTS will both feature open acoustics, so that you will not remain cocooned within your world as you run, allowing you to hear the honk of vehicles – which could be a lifesaver. Both of them deliver a punchy bass while remaining acoustically open.
As for the CX 686 SPORTS and OCX 686 SPORTS, they have closed ear-canal designs which are ideal for indoor exercise, shielding out noise distractions in environments like gyms – especially those gyms that have really, really loud music. No word on pricing as at press time, but all of them ought to be out already.
