However it seems that not everyone is enamored by the selfie stick and over in the UK, it seems that the selfie stick has since been banned on matchdays at the Emirates Stadium. Speaking to the New Journal, an Arsenal spokesman was quoted as saying, “We can confirm that ‘selfie sticks’ are banned on matchdays at Emirates Stadium. The club’s ground regulations prohibit any object that could be used as a weapon or could compromise public safety.”
This is actually not the first time that selfie sticks have gotten some hate. Over in South Korea, the selfie stick had recently come under fire due to the fact that it featured Bluetooth connectivity but was not registered with the appropriate authorities. Of course once that’s been settled we reckon selfie sticks in South Korea should not be an issue, but who would have thought that such a simple device could generate this much controversy to begin with?
