It was reported last month that Samsung is working on an Apple Pay competitor of its own. Apple’s new payments service was launched a few months back and it has leaned on the massive iOS user base to establish itself as a strong player in the mobile payments market. The Korean company’s efforts is widely known as Samsung Pay right now and according to a new report Samsung is going to work with VISA and McAfee to further improve its upcoming service.

An announcement regarding this new service might be made at MWC 2015. Today’s reports out of South Korea suggest that the company is going to conduct an Unpacked event on March 2nd to unveil the Galaxy S6, and that’s where it may also talk about Samsung Pay.

According to Sammobile the company is going to work with VISA to boost adoption of its payment service. It is possible that cards issued by VISA could become automatically compatible with Samsung Pay. Its work with McAfee will squarely be concerned with improving security and protecting users’ card information.

None of these claims have been independently verified and Samsung itself hasn’t confirmed anything as yet about a payments service. Previous reports suggest that Samsung Pay might go live at some point in 2015 and that the company is talking with a payments startup called LoopPay to handle things behind the scenes.
