The rumor mill is not yet done with HTC’s upcoming flagship smartphone, HTC One M9 or “Hima,” and today we’re seeing what is claimed to be the HTC One M9 Plus. From the looks of it this is going to be a One M9 variant that has a larger display and a few tweaks. A purported picture of this smartphone has been leaked online today along with some specifications.
As per the @leaksfly account on Twitter the HTC One M9 Plus is going to have a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, it will be powered with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor and will have 3GB of RAM along with a fingerprint scanner and dual rear camera.
Since this is a relatively new source that hasn’t established much of a track record one can’t rely too easily upon the information provided. True that HTC has launched enlarged versions of its flagship smartphone in the past so it wouldn’t surprise anyone if the company did it again this time around.
Another possibility which exists is that what we see here might be a prototype of the HTC One M9. Perhaps this was one version of the device that the company tested at one point before setting for another version.
Previous HTC phablets haven’t had the BoomSound stereo speakers usually found on the front at the top and bottom of the flagship smartphones, but we see that in this picture, and something doesn’t quite feel right.
