Well if you’re in the market for a new and affordable smartphone, there is a good chance that we could be looking at a possible Moto E refresh. This is according to a recent FCC filing where a mysterious Motorola handset made an appearance. While the filing could be for just about any Motorola phone, what gave it away was the lack of LTE connectivity.
Most smartphones these days come with LTE connectivity onboard. Even mid-range handsets come with LTE, so the fact that it is missing LTE means that we could be looking at a very entry-level device which the Moto E seems to fit the bill for. The FCC filing also revealed the usual connectivity options such as WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and it will operate on the 850/1900MHz GSM bands.
However apart from that, not much else is known. We can’t be sure when Motorola will make the device official, but we will be keeping our eyes peeled for more information. In the meantime anyone else looking forward to a possible Moto E successor?
