The Sony PlayStation TV is a relatively cheap gateway into the Japanese company’s gaming platform. It was first released last year and was added to the family of consoles that includes the likes of PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation Vita. If the PS TV’s $100 price tag seemed a bit too much to you then chances are you might want to get your wallet ready. The price of this micro-console has been reduced at major retailers in the U.S.
Its not a substantial increase, its not like there’s a fire sale going on, but at some of the country’s major retailers the PlayStation TV’s price is now down from $100 to $80. Those who want to go for the bundle that includes a controller will have to pay $100 instead of $140.
The new price is available from retailers like Best Buy, GameStop, Amazon and Walmart. All of them have updated their listings for PlayStation TV and none mentions that this is a special promotion or a limited time discount. So the possibility exists that this could be a permanent reduction in price, though Sony’s own retail store listings currently put the price at $100 for the console and $140 for the bundle.
With the PlayStation TV its possible to use services like PlayStation Now and Remote Play to get some serious gaming done, its a good deal if you already have a full-fledged PlayStation console and would like to be able to stream games to another TV without having to pay full price for another console.
