Sony announced back in March 2014 that it is going to create original TV shows for PlayStation. The first show is called Powers and in October last year Sony released the very first trailer for this show. Back then the company didn’t say when the new show is going to premiere but today it has come out with that information.
The PlayStation Powers original series is produced by Sony Pictures Television. Its a studio that’s behind colossal hits like Breaking Bad so the folks do know what they’re doing. Power’s story is based on Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim who are two homicide detectives that deal with cases “that just so happen to involve people with extraordinary powers.”
In an update on the official PlayStation Blog today Michael Bendis, the executive producer of the show, confirmed that production has been wrapped on all ten episodes of Powers. Bendis also revealed the premiere date. The first three episodes of Powers will be released on March 10th after which a new episode will be released every Tuesday.
Everybody will be able to watch the first episode for free at PlayStation.com/Powers. All PlayStation Plus members will get access to the entire season for free, evidently this adds more value to PS Plus subscriptions, so mark March 10th in your calendars if you’ve been curious to see what the first original series for PlayStation looks like.
