Pinnacle Africa Announces Proline SP4 Smartphone

A new smartphone has been announced – but the thing is, what’s so great about that? New smartphones get announced very often these days. Well, this time around it would not have anything to do with the Android platform, but rather, the Windows Phone mobile operating system. Pinnacle Africa’s latest release, the Proline SP4, is all set to arrive on the South African market this coming January 30th – where it will retail for all of $87 (after conversion, of course) a pop.

The Pinnacle Africa Proline SP4 will run on Windows Phone 8.1, where it will run on a quad-core Snapdragon chipset accompanied by an Adreno 302 GPU. Apart from that, there will be 512MB RAM to keep it chugging along, not to mention 4GB of internal memory – which can be further expanded thanks to a microSD memory card slot. The entire display stands at a mere 4” in size – small by today’s standards, at relatively low resolution of 480 x 800 pixels to boot.

All in all, this is a rather unimpressive handset where its hardware specifications are concerned, although there is a 4MP shooter at the back and a VGA selfie camera. At least the battery packs a punch – we are looking at a 1,920mAh battery with a chassis that tips the scales at 125 grams, measuring 125mm x 64mm x 10.6mm.
