When the OnePlus One was launched, the company took an interesting approach by creating an invitation system where you had to be invited in order to buy the phone. In some ways it was understandable as they are a new company and trying to manage their supply chain can be rather tricky.
However as time progressed, the company began to open the sales for brief periods of time and if you’re hoping to get your hands on the phone, come 20th of January you will be able to so. OnePlus has recently announced on their website that on the 20th of January, customers will be able to order the OnePlus One handset for themselves without the need for an invite.
The offer will open for a very brief window of time and will run from 7pm to 9pm EST on the 20th of January, so you will have to most fast if you want in on it. The 16GB model in white will be sold for $299 and the 64GB black model will go for $349. Given that the OnePlus One has managed to shift about 1 million units in 2014, safe to say there is a high demand for the device.
The company has plans to launch a successor to the phone, possibly in the form of the OnePlus Two. We have also heard that the company is planning a device where the emphasis will be placed on its design, so it will be interesting to see what the company will be able to offer up in the near future, and hopefully without the need for an invitation system either.
