Windows Phone users have been waiting for a new version of Microsoft Office. Recently Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore said that WP users will soon see what the Office team has been building for them. If a teaser posted by Microsoft Colombia is to be believed then its likely that the new Office for Windows Phone might look very similar to its counterpart on iOS.
New versions of Office have been released for both Android and iOS. People who use Windows Phone would no doubt wonder why Microsoft isn’t paying attention to its own users even when Office is a Microsoft product as well. That’s a fair question after all but even though it has taken a lot of time the Office team will soon have something to show to WP users.
The teaser that has been posted by Microsoft Colombia on Facebook reads “Edit your documents while you’re away from the office with mobile app #Office.” Look closely and you’ll see that the app’s user interface is very similar to the iOS version.
Either that’s an effort on Microsoft’s part to make the user experience consistent across different platforms or they just took a screenshot of the iOS app and used photoshop trickery to slap it on a Windows Phone.
Whatever the case may be we can expect to hear details about the new Office for Windows Phone on January 21st, when Microsoft takes the stage and unveils Windows 10 for consumers.
