Halo: The Master Chief Collection was released last year. The game was plagued with issues soon after it launched and since then the developers have been working on updates non-stop to fix things. While improvements have been made there is still a lot to be done. The upcoming Halo: The Master Chief Collection update is going to bring new content as well as overall improvements for the game and it has been confirmed today that a beta test for this update will be conducted prior to release.
The developer 343 Industries announced today that it has been conducting internal testing of the incoming content update. Keeping the update’s scale in mind, as it also brings changes to the party system and the matchmaking experience, the developer has decided to include a few members of the Xbox One Preview program to ensure that the final release for all players goes off smoothly.
Any Halo: The Master Chief Collection owner on the Xbox One can take part in the beta test as long as they have opted-in for the Xbox One beta testing which comes as part and parcel of the Xbox One Preview program. Beta is opt-in and content will only be released to select participants within the program, selection will be based on the highest levels of engagement with this title.
Selected participants will be prompted to download the content tomorrow, January 23rd, and 343 Industries says that it will first gather data from the beta test before deciding when this update is to be released for everybody.
