Japan-based NEC has just unveiled a monster of a UHD display – and I am referring to this 98” behemoth that is known as the NEC MultiSync X981UHD. Certainly having this to sit on your desk is overkill – not to mention your eyes are going to get blown away not too long after looking at it, but rather, the NEC MultiSync X981UHD’s existence will sport both features and functionality that will help organizations view their content in a whole new way.
Sporting a 3840 x 2160 native resolution, which would be the equivalent of four timesthe resolution of full HD, and boasting a 60 Hz refresh rate thanks to a DisplayPort connection, it would provide viewers with an immersive experience alongside clarity that they have not come across in the past.
NEC Display will offer their award-winning brand of color adjustment capabilities of its high-end professional graphics displays to digital signage. With its new SpectraView Engine, users can manipulate the color of certain sections within the display that ought to play a strategic role in enhancing one’s business needs. Apart from that, there is also the new UHD Upscaling feature which will take into account the brightness and color of surrounding pixels, as it makes adjustments to the target pixels accordingly for an even sharper and richer image.
This high performance S-IPS LCD panel will feature 500 cd/m2 maximum brightness, and 10-bit color performance, accompanied by a 3 year limited warranty – alongside an asking price of $39,999 when it arrives in February. [Press Release]
