moto-x-review-05According to Motorola software engineer Luciano Carvalho over on his Google+ page, the first generation Motorola Moto X (which ain’t too shabby of a smartphone, really) will come with all of the features that the second generation Moto X has – as long as those features are not hardware dependent. This is definitely good news for owners of the first generation Moto X, since it would mean that your smartphone has a new lease of life.

This would exclude the Best Photo feature from the phone and gallery, and it will also depend on the new camera that is found on the second generation of the Moto X. What would be missing would also be another two features which will rely on the IR sensors that are found in the 2014 release of the Moto X.

Users of the first generation Moto X will be on the receiving end of the new Moto Voice features however, which means that users will gain the ability to alter the phrase that begins with voice control. There are some suggestions which are offered by Motorola that include, “Ok Moto X,” “Listen up, Moto X,” and “Hello There Moto X”.

On a side note, Motorola has already conducted regional soak tests of Android 5.0.2. Carvalho added, “That’s a limited soak test roll out for some of our products in different regions of the world. The update will be pushed to a wider audience if no critical showstoppers are found by users who already received it.”
