It was not too long ago that the Oppo U3, yet unreleased smartphone, was certified by the TENAA – which so happens to be the equivalent of the FCC over in China, and this more often than not meant that the impending release of a particular device is about to happen. Of course, there were reports of the Oppo U3 that mentioned its thickness of 9mm – which frankly, ain’t all that thin at all taking into consideration the likes of the Oppo R5. Having said that, it seems that the handset will measure 8mm thin according to the latest round of rumors, which would make it the thinnest smartphone that features a camera which boasts of 4x optical zoom.
Apart from that, it does look as though the Oppo U3 is being set up for a $451 price tag after conversion – which would make it rather pricey for an unlocked device, especially when you take into consideration its branding position in the market.
Other alleged hardware specifications of the Oppo U3 would include a 5.9” display at Full HD resolution, a 64-bit octa-core 1.7GHz MT6752 from MediaTek, 2GB RAM accompanied by 16GB of internal memory, a 13MP rear camera at the back and a 5MP front-facing camera. Expect the entire shebang to tip the scales at 180 grams, and it ought to arrive with the VOOC Rapid Charger feature, too, which is also found on the Oppo R5. We would not lose sleep over this, as it is but a matter of time before it is released officially.
