Looking forward to learning more about Windows 10? Microsoft sent out invites last year to an event that they would be holding on the 21st of January in which more details about the upcoming update to Windows would be revealed, but in the meantime it seems that Microsoft has already started to promote its Lumia handsets as being Windows 10 ready.
Popping on over to Microsoft’s Lumia page, you will see that the Redmond company has started to mention in the description of its phones that they are Windows 10 ready. In fact the way that they have been labelled seems to suggest that Microsoft could be using the Windows 10 name for their mobile platform.
Given that Microsoft had previously used Windows Phone to distinguish its mobile platform from its desktop platform, the shift in naming could signify a unification of their desktop and mobile operating systems, although we reckon that some users could still end up being a bit confused between the two.
It is also refreshing to see low-end devices like the Lumia 532 being pegged as Windows 10 ready, especially after the fiasco in the past where older Windows Phone handsets were passed over on updates due to their hardware. In any case we will learn more about Windows 10 tomorrow, so do check back with us then for the details.
