Micromax of India has worked hard to bring a spanking new smartphone to India later this coming January 16th – where it will be known as the Canvas Hue. The Micromax Canvas Hue is said to come with a recommended retail price of INR 10,999, which would translate to approximately $175 for those who live Stateside as well as €149 for folks who live across the pond. At that price point for an unlocked handset, what can you expect in terms of its hardware specifications?
Well for starters, the Micromax Canvas Hue will come with a 5-inch 720p AMOLED touchscreen display with Gorilla Glass 3, an 8MP camera at the back complete with LED flash, a 2MP shooter in front for selfie lovers, a quad-core 1.3GHz processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal memory which can be further expanded through the inclusion of a microSD memory card slot.
As with many of such entry level and mid-range handsets from Asia, dual SIM capability seems to be the norm here, where the Canvas Hue will also be accompanied by an FM radio, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11n, and mobile data connectivity which maxes out at HSPA+, all of them running on a 3,000 mAh battery with Android 4.4 KitKat right out of the box.
