Next week Microsoft is going to conduct an event to show off the consumer version of Windows 10. At this event the company is also going to unveil Windows 10 for smartphones and tablets. Not much is known about the version for mobile devices but according to a new report there’s a possibility that the Lumia Camera app, which has till now been exclusive to Lumia branded WP smartphones, may be expanded to devices from other manufacturers.

Jesse Leskinen, a Windows Phone user, discovered a new Camera beta app in the Windows Phone Store which was apparently for internal use only by Microsoft. The app was then stripped down by Leskinen who then managed to sideload it onto a Samsung ATIV S.

The images that Leskinen provided to Windows Central show that the Lumia Camera app has the same design but doesn’t brings some features like Rich Capture that debuted with the Lumia Denim update.

Listing for HID Bluetooth support is present in the app but its not clear what the Human Interface Devices support will be used for Lumia Camera. The version on the Windows Store hasn’t been updated since October 2014 and now its possible that future builds have integrated within internal builds of Windows 10 for smartphones.

Rumor has it that Microsoft is going to bypass the second planned major Windows Phone 8.1 update and instead upgrade users straight to Windows 10. It hasn’t been confirmed as yet but we should expect the company to touch upon this at its event on January 21st.
