Everyone loves a little bit of gold, and if you needed some level of convincing, surely the fact that Apple’s gold colored iPhone 5s proved itself to be quite the hit when it was first released. Of course, it could be because folks had another color choice other than the usual black or white shades that might have pushed gold to the forefront of the sales action, but that is a different story for another day. We have received word that Microsoft confirmed that the golden editions for two handsets – namely the Nokia Lumia 830 and the Nokia Lumia 930, with the latter being sold outside of China, including select markets throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa. Hmmm, the US seems to be conspicuously missing from the list – what a bummer.
Do bear in mind that both the Lumia 930 Gold and Lumia 830 Gold will also feature white and black variants, albeit with golden accents to boot. Needless to say, it is not the real precious metal that is being used here, other than a paint job.
The black Lumia 930 Gold will be released from this week onward, while the white one will roll out at the end of the month. For those who would prefer to pick up the Lumia 830 Gold, a little bit of patience would be called for, since it would roll out only in February. According to Microsoft, local operators in individual countries would be the ones to determine the pricing. [Press Release]
