[CES 2015] Routers are not exactly the most interesting pieces of hardware around, but then again, this does not mean that there should be no progress to be made in this particular department. Linksys, the company owned by Belkin, has just introduced the Linksys EA8500 Wi-Fi router, where it claims to deliver 802.11ac at 1.73 Gbps. This is made possible courtesy of two multi-user antennas that will ensure the speed remains at tip top condition even when the network is congested, in addition to a rather snappy 1.4GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor.
Apart from that, it will come equipped with other frills such as a quartet of Gigabit Ethernet jacks in addition to ports that allow you to share your eSATA and USB 3.0 storage. Expect to fork out approximately $280 for the Linksys EA8500 Wi-Fi router, where those who are on a tight budget, there is the $180 WRT1200AC that allows you to work with 1.3Gbps of speed.
Well, what kind of router would you want to work with to start off the new year on a good note? Surely with speed being of the essence, it definitely is worth checking out what Linksys has to offer, don’t you think so? After all, this investment will surely pay dividends down the road.
