lg-flex-event-09

It has been a while since LG launched its smartphone that touted a curved display. The device is called LG G Flex and its ready to be succeeded. That might happen soon it seems. A rumor out of Korea suggests that at the Consumer Electronics Show 2015 LG is finally going to announce the G Flex 2, and its going to be a powerhouse, touting Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor.

Recently a hint about LG launching a new smartphone at CES 2015 came from Qualcomm itself. The company tweeted that one of its Snapdragon processors will power a new device that will be unveiled at the event, and the accompanying photo all but confirmed that this device would be from this Korean manufacturer.

Not all of the specifications have been made public by the Korean website that aired this rumor, but it does claim that LG G Flex 2 is also going to have LTE-A compatibility with tri-band carrier aggregation apart from the 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor from Qualcomm.

Previous rumors had us believe that the G Flex’s successor is going to have a smaller display. The G Flex had a 720p 6-inch display, LG’s upcoming smartphone might bring it down to 5.5 or 5.0-inches with 1080p resolution. This is pure speculation.

CES 2015 kicks off on January 6th, 2015.
