At CES 2015, Lenovo’s Yoga 3 line gets not only an update, but also a slight size increase with a 14” model, whereas the Yoga 2 series only went as far as 13”. The good news is that the 14” model has seen its usable display size increase, while the body itself has remained very much in a format that is comparable with a 13.3”. The 11” (2.6lbs) will remain the smallest Yoga 3 of all, and is great for users who mostly do email communications while favoring an ultra-portability at an affordable budget.
Among the improvements that are notable: the 5th Generation Intel Core M processor of course (which is better for the battery life), but also better audio (and therefore entertainment) with a JBL and Waves audio setup. If the audio performance is similar to the Yoga 3 Pro (which is using the same feature on paper), then it is quite remarkable and should not be underestimated.
Both 11” and 14” feature an IPS display, which stands among the best options you can get (beware, all IPS are still not equal), but there’s also an option to get an NVIDIA graphics card (only on the 14”?), which means that the Yoga 3 can become an entry level gaming machine as well. Combine that with the audio, good display and the ability to be used in multiple modes (tent, stand, etc…) and this may give people some ideas…
