[CES 2015] When it comes to form and function, finding the right balance between both is always a good thing – and this is why we were pleased to have crossed paths with the LaCie Mirror portable hard drive. In fact, we think that if Cinderella were to live in the 21st century, this is the perfect tech accessory to go along with her glass slippers. But I digress – the LaCie Mirror will come wholly encased in scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass.
Not only is it a fully functional 1TB hard drive right from the get go, it would also make your desk space or work area a little less bland, and to have a wee bit more class than the rest of your cubicle mates. The LaCie Mirror portable hard drive will remain in its base that is made of a single piece of ebony wood from Makassar, looking regal like all get out. This has been made possible thanks to a design collaboration with the acclaimed French designer, Pauline Deltour.
Deltour shared, “You have to look twice to discover the LaCie Mirror’s true ambition. Covered by mirrored glass, it’s first an elegant and functional object, and only on second glance is it revealed to be a slim high–performance hard drive.”
Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with Native Damage Resistance (NDR) has been used to allow it to look good and work better. Of course, it carries the well known damage resistance and toughness levels that ought to help provide you with additional peace of mind as you carry it around. Each LaCie Mirror will come with a 2-year limited warranty, where this 1TB hard drive will arrive later this month for $279.99 a pop. [Press Release]
