These price increases have been made to reflect changes in VAT and foreign exchange rates. Now that they are starting to take effect across the board as mentioned, folks living in the UK would see a 10 pence rise for the cheapest premium apps, which would mean bidding goodbye to previous £0.69 prices and saying hello to £0.79 price tags.
Other folks in the EU will be greeted by a new €0.99 starting price, while the minimum amount that one spend on the iTunes App Store would be $1.19 – meaning you can’t get much for a (Canadian) dollar anymore as the $0.99 price tag has been relegated to the history bin, and so too will folks at Norway who trade with the Norwegian krone see a similar increase in price. As for Russia, it remains to be seen just how high of a price increase will happen taking into consideration the beleaguered ruble in recent times.
