Intel is well known for their microprocessors over the years, where they have seen off competitors in the past such as AMD, and will continue to look as though they will be the trendsetters in this industry. This is one 800lbs gorilla that will take a whole lot of shaking for it to move around for sure! Well, Intel has a NUC range of computers which are actually small desktop machines which are powered by Intel processors, and up until now, one would not have been able to find a model that has anything beefier than a Core i5 processor – not at least until now, that is.
Intel did update their NUC website not too long ago, throwing in a slew of new details about the soon-to-arrive NUC5i7RYH. This model is tipped to arrive some time in the second quarter of this year, where we are told that it will boast of a 5th-gen Intel Core i7 “Broadwell” chip.
FanlessTech claims that the chip will in all probability, be a Core i7-5557U processor with Intel Iris 6100 graphics. This would clearly place it in the category of a laptop processor as opposed to a more power-hungry desktop chip, but it does boast enough firepower underneath the hood to make this new NUC one of the most powerful ever.
