Early last year, Huawei unveiled a wearable of their own in the form of the TalkBand. It is an interesting device as it basically combined a Bluetooth headset with a fitness band, thus giving the wearer more than one way to use the device as they see fit. Now come MWC 2015, what can we expect from Huawei in the wearables department?
The good news is that if you’re looking forward to new wearables from Huawei, the company recently showed off their brand strategy for 2015 and according to their slide (which you can see above), one of Huawei’s announcements at MWC 2015 will be a new wearable product. Huawei was also pretty specific about what device it would be as they explicitly stated on the slide that it would be an Android Wear smartwatch.
From what we can tell, it looks like a smartwatch with a round face, but could it be more than that? Huawei’s CMO of devices Shao Yang was quoted as saying, “Different is very important. We are not trying to bring something similar,” when asked about the company’s wearable strategy.
The device is also expected to debut alongside Huawei’s new fitness platform, but beyond that there were no additional details revealed during the presentation, but we guess with MWC only a month away from happening, we won’t have to wait too long to find out what exactly Huawei has up their sleeves.
