It was not too long ago that we brought you word on how Huawei is looking into dropping the Ascend sub-brand altogether where Android-powered devices are concerned, and hence, chances are we might not very well see the Ascend name in the new successor of the Ascend Mate 7 phablet, where it would very well be known as the Huawei Mate 8. Pretty plain, but it does have a decent ring to it, don’t you think so? Well, a new image of the alleged Huawei Mate 8 has surfaced onto the Internet, in which you will be able to see above, but one ought to take the leaked image with a pinch of salt, as with any other rumors out there.
It does look as though the shot on the alleged Huawei Mate 8’s back does seem to be similar to a leak that happened last December, which was then claimed to be the upcoming Ascend 7 Plus. Well, if this were to be the successor to the Ascend Mate 7, then it would not be too much of a surprise to see rather similar design cues to the entire shebang, although there seems to be a far larger speaker grille located at the back. In terms of its hardware specifications, there is nothing at this point in time to work with.
