According to Bloomberg, HTC is expected to make an announcement for their wearable at MWC 2015 which is kicking off in March. The company has also recently sent out invites to an event that they will be holding on the 1st of March at MWC, so presumably we could learn more about HTC’s upcoming wearable at the event.
HTC’s interest in wearables has recently been hinted at with a recent partnership with Under Armour, so perhaps the partnership is merely the tip of the iceberg and that we can expect an actual wearable device at MWC, rather than just an app announcement. It is unclear as to what kind of wearable we are talking about as it could be a smartwatch or just a simple fitness band.
HTC is also expected to launch their next-gen smartphone at the event in the form of the HTC “Hima”. The handset is rumored to come in two sizes, much like how Apple released the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, and based on its specs it sounds mighty impressive. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but check back with us at a later date for the details.
