Some users might prefer to use a desktop for more powerful computing needs. This is because desktops tend to be cheaper if one were to build a more powerful system versus laptops where the premium is placed on mobility. That being said if you have to have a powerful system with you on the go, HP’s recently announced ZBook 15u G2 mobile workstation could be worth taking a look at.
This is a laptop that features a 15.6-inch Full HD display and users can choose between Intel Core i5 processors, or for those that demand more, they can choose amongst a couple of different Core i7 chipsets as well. The laptop will also be able to support up to 16GB of RAM and will offer users different storage options ranging from regular HDDs or SSDs, depending on your needs and budget.
In the graphics department, HP is also offering the AMD FirePro M4170 with 1GB of GDDR5 VRAM, DTS Studio Sound technology, a variety of ports and connectivity options, and a backlit keyboard. HP is also offering users the choice between a variety of operating systems including Windows 8.1, Windows 7 Professional, Ubuntu Linux, or FreeDOS.
The HP ZBook 15u G2 is priced starting at $1,199 and is expected to be made available worldwide later this month.
