House of Cards is the first original show that Netflix funded and released exclusively on its online video streaming service. It is safe to say that this series turned out to be a hit. Fans of the show have been anxiously waiting for the third season and today Netflix dropped a treat for all of them. House of Cards season 3 trailer has been released, it provides a glimpse of what to expect from the new season.
The show stars Kevin Spacey as a cunning and ruthless politician called Frank Underwood, aided by his equally ambitious wife Claire Underwood, played by Robin Wright Penn. It is based on the novels by Michael Dobbs which were first adopted for TV by the BBC in 1990s, that series was also called House of Cards, and is available for streaming on Netflix as well.
Netflix’s House of Cards has won critical acclaim. Robin Wright Penn picked up a Golden Globe last year for her performance as Claire Underwood, and just last night Kevin Spacey added another to the list, he won for his performance of the lead character in this series.
Like all others before it season 3 will have 13 episodes that will be released at once on February 27th. Netflix subscribers will be able to binge-watch all of them as soon as they go online. Others, particularly those who are in markets where Netflix isn’t available, will have to wait until pirated copies appear on file sharing websites because the show is not broadcasted on traditional TV networks anywhere.
