Home automation seems to be all the rage these days, and if you’re looking for a more centralized way of controlling your various smart home products and adding security to your home at the same time, Honeywell has recently announced their latest addition to the Lyric family of home automation products in the form of a home security system.
The Lyric home security is Honeywell’s latest product and will feature awareness cameras, smoke and intruder detectors, and to top it all off, will also be able to integrate with a range of home automation products, such as Honeywell’s Lyric smart thermostat which was launched earlier this year, along with lighting, shade, and lock controls.
The security system will sport a sleek touchscreen design and will also be able to respond to the user’s voice. Users will be able to set presets, so for example you could disarm the security system when you arrive home by saying a key phrase. That phrase could also trigger other commands at once, like getting the system to turn on your lights, fire up the thermostat, and so on.
Unfortunately pricing and availability of Honeywell’s Lyric home security system has yet to be revealed, but hopefully we will learn more about it in the future. In the meantime what do you guys think? Is this something you wouldn’t mind furnishing your home with?
