Harman Kardon Omni Bar Delivers Wireless Audio

As we continue to make the march in the direction of a wireless lifestyle, ranging from wireless charging to wireless audio, here is a solution in the latter category from Harman, where it will be known as the Harman Kardon Omni Bar. The Harman Kardon Omni Bar happens to be an innovative 2.1-channel soundbar which will come with a high-performance wireless subwoofer, allowing it to deliver a rich audio experience to viewers when it is connected to a TV. Not only that, it can also join a standard Wi-Fi network in order to deliver pure, high-definition audio sans pesky wires that get all tangled up, making it part of the Omni multi-room network.

The Omni range that has the new Omni Bar will be controlled and configured wirelessly through the Harman Kardon Controller App. In order to enjoy additional flexibility, the Omni Bar will also boast of built-in Bluetooth connectivity so that one can easily access and stream music directly from devices such as a smartphone, tablet or laptop. The One Touch Follow Me Audio – LINK button would enable one to virtually walk from one room to another without experiencing any loss in connectivity, even when you are streaming via Bluetooth. This newfound freedom would work well in homes that are cozy and decently sized, and there is a little sense of magic when using it, this I will admit.

The Harman Kardon wireless HD Audio range will also feature the Omni 10 and Omni 20 wireless HD loudspeakers and the Adapt wireless adapter, where all of them will be powered by Blackfire Research wireless media technology. Being different from the rest of the wireless streaming systems in the market, this one will support 24 bit/96kHz HD audio streaming for a superior sound experience, and it has a future-proof design thanks to the promise of automatic software upgrades and improvements which can be delivered automatically via a Wi-Fi connection to the Controller App.

The Omni subwoofer have been specially engineered for it to provide several mounting and location options, where it would do well on its included floor stand, or is equally at home when mounted on the wall behind a TV or even when it is hidden under a sofa or chair. Connectivity options include HDMI, Optical, Bluetooth or a 3.5mm mini jack. Expect the Harman Kardon Omni Bar to be available from April this year at $799 a pop.
