The leading Korean manufacturers have been introducing curved TVs for some time now, LG being the first one to create such a home entertainment device back in January 2013. Today at CES 2015, the chinese brand Haier is announcing its own 105” curved LED TV and 55” curved OLED TV, we have not seen them yet but we will make sure to stop by the booth to check the image and build quality with our own eyes.
The 105Q8000 model features an ultra-thin 105” display with more than 5K resolution (5120×2160). According to Haier, the most innovative feature is the fact that the distance between the eye’s and all the angles of the TV is always the same, which provides a great immersive experience. Other features include polarized 3D (Haier Family 3D), integrated internet browser, and Haier Smart TV applications suite. The double tuner allows for video recording while watching another TV channel simultaneously.
In case 105” is too large for your house, you can buy the 55” Full HD OLED a.k.a. the 55H9800 model that features a super thin metal frame (1.5 mm!) and an ultra fast response time, close to 0.
Pricing and availability have not been disclosed yet, it is highly probable that the devices are still in prototyping stage ( we will know more at the booth)
