Garmin fēnix 3 Multisport GPS Watch Does More Than Tell The Time

[CES 2015] Being an old hand in the GPS industry, Garmin is back with their brand new fēnix 3 multisport GPS watch. This unique timepiece does a whole lot more than to just tell the time, as it comes equipped with the spanking new EXO GPS antenna, allowing the fēnix 3 to come with support for a full range of multisport activities. It does not matter if you happen to be into advanced fitness training, or love spending some time in a cross-country run, or perhaps head to the mountains for a spot of alpine skiing or snowboarding, the fēnix 3 will be able to handle all of those situations with aplomb, and then some. Heck, hiking, climbing and trail running would be nothing for it.

Apart from that, the fēnix 3 multisport GPS watch will also be compatible with the Connect IQ store, delivering smartwatch functionality and customization along the way. You can choose from a trio of variants – Silver, Gray, and the premium Sapphire, which will naturally boast of a scratch-resistant sapphire lens. Shared specifications include a stainless steel bezel and sunlight-readable high-resolution color display, a glass fiber reinforced housing that helps it to survive even the harshest of conditions, a brand new omni-directional steel EXO antenna, being water rated all the way to 100 meters, and has up to 20 hours of battery life in GPS mode, 50 hours in UltraTrac mode and six weeks (!) in watch mode.

Other basic watch functions have not been forgotten, so you can enjoy the usual bells and whistles of alarms, tones, vibration alerts, timer and stopwatch functionality with this bad boy. Expect the fēnix 3 to be out in the first quarter of this year, where the fēnix 3 Gray and Silver will retail for $499.99 and $549.99 for the HRM-Run bundle, while the premium fēnix 3 Sapphire is a wee bit more pricey at $599.99.
