These new rugged series have been specially designed so that they will be able to withstand daily wear and tear, not to mention shrug off more serious conditions, thanks to its features such as a watertight drive compartment that allows it to float when dropped in water. If you have a case of butterfingers, fret not – they are also drop-resistant (to a certain degree, of course), allowing them to hold up to adventures or mishaps. Each purchase will be accompanied by a three-year limited warranty for additional peace of mind.
The G-DRIVE ev RaW sports a rugged bumper and is tiny enough to fit into a backpack without much issue. It shrugs off 1.5 meter drops, offering protection for up to 1TB of data. Accompanied by a USB 3.0 cable, it will be out later this month, arriving in 500GB and 1TB capacities which will retail for $99.95 and $129.95, respectively.
There is also the G-DRIVE ev ATC with Thunderbolt and the G-DRIVE ev ATC with USB 3.0 , where they will come in an all-terrain case (ATC) complete with a tethered Thunderbolt or USB 3.0 cable. Out later this February, the 1TB Thunderbolt model will retail for $229.95, while the 1TB G-DRIVE ev ATC with USB 3.0 will cost $179.95.
