Photographers have to work in all sorts of conditions, whether it be rain or shine, sometimes work is work. However if you’re an outdoors photographer than chances are features like weather sealing are probably important to you, but not only does your camera have to be weather sealed, your lens too. If you’re in the market for a weather resistant lens, you might be interested to learn that Fujifilm has recently announced the FUJINON XF16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR lens.
In case the name wasn’t already a dead giveaway, this is a 16-55mm f/2.8 lens with weather resistance, thank to Fujifilm’s use of 14 sealing points to help make the lens durable and weather resistant, not to mention dust-proof as well.
Fujifilm is also boasting that the lens will use the new Nano-GI coating technology which apparently helps to inhibit ghosting and flare, all the while ensuring that the lens is able to capture crystal clear images. Thanks to Fujifilm’s use of a light weight internal focusing system and a twin linear motor, the lens is not only quiet but has an auto-focus speed of 0.06 seconds.
Unfortunately this lens does not come cheap and will be priced starting at $1,199.95 and should be available for purchase come February 2015.
