A player who is known as “Koala Steamed” was the one behind this fully-functioning word processor within the game. It was made possible thanks to Minecraft’s creative mode, where the device would make use of blocks that are available in the game, and the amount of time required for him to achieve this feat was two years. Of course, this is because he did not have a go at it full time, but still, it is a labor of love worth mentioning.
The computational logic of this word processor would be heavily inspired by a game resource known as Redstone, and if Redstone were to be applied in the right manner, it can transform blocks into switches and wires. There is a 50 character monitor that shows off whatever text that has been typed, a 1600 bit memory to stash your typed documents and a fully functioning keyboard that is – you guessed it right, built out of Minecraft blocks.
There are future plans by Koala Steamed t include a CPU and arithmetic logic unit down the road so that it can be transformed into a fully-fledged computer.
