There is wonderful news today for those who like to play Wii games on the Nintendo Wii U. There are lots of gamers out there who like to play the various classic games that were released for the original Wii from Nintendo, but the process hasn’t exactly been easy, and the company has fixed that today. During Nintendo Direct the company confirmed that starting today gamers will be able to download Wii games on Wii U.
The Nintendo Wii U is capable of running Wii games but there’s a lengthy process. First gamers need to have Wii game disks, they are absolutely required, and then boot-up of Wii Mode is needed inside the Wii U. Only then can the disks be used to play those classic games.
From today Nintendo is selling fully downloadable digital versions of Wii games for the Wii U, the company confirmed during Nintendo Direct, these games can then be launched straight from the Wii U menu.
Three titles will be released this month. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is available today, Punch-Out will be released on January 22nd and the Metroid Prime Trilogy will be available on January 29th. During the launch week the titles will cost half of their usual price on the Wii U eShop.
