Bang & Olufsen is coming to CES with BeoSound Moment, an intelligent wireless music system that can play audio files and connect to online music services. The company claims that Beosound Moment is the world’s first touch-sensitive wood interface.
Bang & Olufsen has a reputation to push the envelope in terms of design and I am very curious to try the intriguing touch-sensitive wood interface. In a sea of plastic and metal devices, seeing an interactive music system made of wood is quite unique.
Beosound Moment offers a double sided interface that allows for two different listening experiences. The top is detachable: on the aluminium side there is a touch-screen to browse the music catalog, on the wooden side an oak sensitive panel and a wooden wheel that provides a one-touch access to the music.
Over time, the system learns your taste in music and is able to automatically play your favorite type of music or radio programs. Pattern Play, the smart feature that selects the best music according to your taste and your daily habits, has access to over 35 million songs from global music streaming service Deezer. The user activates PatternPlay with one touch from the oak panel.
On the aluminium side, the new multi-colored MoodWheel allows users to automatically play the music according to the mood of the moment.
BeoSound Moment is compatible with the whole Bang & Olufsen range of wireless and wired quality speakers . The product will be available for EUR 2195/DKK 16.995/GBP 1.795/USD 2.795 exclusively at Bang & Olufsen stores on January 30, 2015 in countries where both Bang & Olufsen and Deezer are available.
