Samsung isn’t the only company that can create smartphones with cameras that tout optical zoom. ASUS has thrown its hat in the ring as well. The company has announced ZenFone Zoom at CES 2015 and it says this smartphone is the “world’s thinnest” that features a 13 megapixel camera capable of 3x optical zoom.
There’s a 10-element lens design featured in the 13 megapixel rear camera capable of 3x optical zoom and 12x digital zoom. It has Optical Image Stabilization as well which helps remove blur from photos. Laser autofocus is also onboard so that users can take “incredibly-sharp” images every time.
Advanced users who like to tinker with a camera’s settings before they shoot will be able to take advantage of ASUS ZenFone Zoom’s Manual mode which lets them adjust things like shutter speed, ISO settings and more.
This isn’t the only smartphone that ASUS has showed off at CES 2015. The company’s new flagship, ZenFone 2, has also been unveiled during this industry event.
It remains to be seen in which markets this smartphone is made available, and for exactly how much. The company hasn’t revealed any information about that as yet. Local ASUS representatives in every market will provide availability and pricing details for the ZenFone Zoom.
