Alcatel OneTouch Watch Announced, Promises To Be Affordable

alcatel-onetouch-warchLast week we reported that Alcatel OneTouch would be unveiling a new smartwatch at CES 2015, and sure enough they have. The company has recently unveiled their latest wearable which has been dubbed a rather simple and straightforward Watch, which according to Alcatel will feature a premium design while keeping the price relatively affordable.

The Alcatel OneTouch Watch will come with similar features that one might expect from other smartwatches, such as a heartrate monitor which has been embedded on the underside of the watch. It will also come with a host of other sensors such as an accelerometer, a gyroscope, an altimeter, and a compass.

The wearable will also be able to track the wearer’s activities, such as sleep, distance covered, steps taken, and calories burnt. There will be your standard smartwatch features as well, such as displaying notifications, social media updates, and will also be able to vibrate when the wearer’s phone is too far from the watch, so you can be reminded to bring your phone with you.

As far as battery life is concerned, the Alcatel OneTouch Watch will sport a 210mAh battery which Alcatel claims should last 2-5 days and should be able to recharge in an hour. Pricing and availability have yet to be announced but Alcatel has mentioned that it will apparently cost a fraction of what the competition is priced at.
