The app will also attempt to calculate the fastest route to your chosen destination, but apparently the app’s choice of routes sometimes takes it through residential areas, a move that isn’t appreciated. A report from Associated Press has revealed that residents of neighborhoods in Los Angeles County aren’t too happy with Waze.
Apparently Waze has been sending drivers from the freeway into their streets in an attempt to avoid traffic. The report has also revealed that residents are trying to fight back against the influx of traffic on their streets by reporting fake accidents in hopes that it will deter users from driving through their streets, and for the app to redirect them to somewhere else.
While Waze has yet to comment about the complaints, a Google spokeswoman has told residents that it isn’t the app to blame, but rather LA’s traffic, but what do you guys think? Should Waze somehow try to avoid directing users through neighborhoods to help preserve the serenity and peace of such locations?
