It seems that the world’s thinnest smartphone, or so as claimed by the folks over at Vivo, is set to be announced this coming December 10th. Known as the Vivo X5 Max smartphone, this particular device is said to measure a stunning 4.75mm in terms of thickness. At this point in time, this particular mantle belongs to the Oppo R5, where that particular model comes with a dimension of 148.9mm x 74.5mm x 4.85mm. Of course, it is going to be extremely challenging to be able to point out just which handset is thinner in real life with but a glance, but Vivo would not mind that as long as they remain right on top of things.
The Vivo X5 Max, despite its relatively thin form factor, will continue to feature a standard 3.5 mm headset jack, where it will also be accompanied by the likes of Android 4.4 KitKat as the mobile operating system of choice, a 5.5” display with 1080 x 1920 pixels, LTE connectivity, Hi-Fi sound, a 13MP camera at the back, a 5MP camera in front, 2GB RAM, and an octa-core MediaTek processor that has been clocked at 1.7GHz. It remains to be seen whether the Vivo X5 Max will see sales outside of China or not as at press time, but one can definitely keep one’s fingers crossed, right?
