It was earlier this morning when we brought you news that a carrier purchased Samsung Galaxy Note 4 would not play nice with the Samsung Gear VR, at least until a software update is installed. Having said that, if you happen to own a Galaxy Note 4 from Verizon Wireless, fret not – this particular flagship phablet from Verizon has just been on the receiving end of an update, so much so that it will also be compatible with the Gear VR – among others.
The latest update for the Verizon Galaxy Note 4 would bump up the version number to KTU84P.N910VVRU1ANJ5, which is nigh impossible to memorize. Still, I suppose folks are more interested in what the update will offer rather than the version number, and that is exactly what we will look at below.
The latest update, apart from making the Galaxy Note 4 compatible with the Gear VR, will also deliver a transparent Amazon Widget, where ISIS wallet has been changed to Softcard, the Galaxy Essential widget updated, screen/font color for non-active items have been made more legible, Spanish support for Mobile Hotspot included, the compatibility issue between Google Drive and the Office viewer being fixed, while text is now selectable and can be copied from any Calendar entry, among others.
