If you own a Galaxy Note 3 on Verizon Wireless then today you have a software update to install on your device. Before you get your hopes up allow me to dash them because Verizon isn’t rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop today. There’s still significant wait involved before Lollipop is rolled out for this device. Today Verizon is pushing out an over-the-air update which brings up the Galaxy Note 3 to Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
The last software update that Verizon released for this device, which brought a software version bump, came back in May so it has been a while. Back then the carrier had released Android 4.4.2 KitKat for the Galaxy Note 3.
Today’s update carries software version number N900VVRUDNJ6 and brings several improvements apart from the usual dosage of bug fixes and performance improvements. 4G data connectivity and voice call performance has been improved in this update and the SMS issue, Bluetooth audio issue and data disconnect issue on VPN have all been fixed.
Knox 2.0 for enterprise is included in the update and so is Find My Mobile, Side Sync Call Forwarding Framework, Virtual Tour Camera Mode and a Kids Mode stud in the widget tray. Updates to Verizon Support and Protection are onboard as well, Caller Name ID has been updated and the Isis Wallet gets a name change to Softcard.
The update is rolling out over-the-air and should arrive on your Verizon Galaxy Note 3 if it hasn’t already.
