Hasbro as well as developer Jagex Games Studio have announced that Transformers Universe is about to arrive at the end of the road, where this third-person shooter MOBA game will shut down early next year. Jagex Games Studio mentioned, “We’re hugely disappointed, but the game will be closing over the coming weeks.” The final date mentioned? January 31, 2015, would be the last day in which you would be able to enjoy Transformers Universe, where after that, you would have to look elsewhere for your gaming entertainment needs.
Just a little background, Transformers Universe happens to be a multiplayer tactical arena game which will blend third-person shooter combat alongside mechanics that have been inspired by MOBA games such as League of Legends and Dota 2. I suppose it ain’t too bad that it is shutting down at the end of next month, especially when you take into consideration that this online game was in an open beta since July – so there is not too much time for you to get attached to it.
Players who picked up the game’s Founders Packs, which will boast of in-game equipment, upgrades, and currency among others, will be refunded, while one is no longer able to let new players create accounts, with existing players being unable to purchase relic packs and starter bundles. The game’s servers and forums will go dark at 10 a.m. GMT on January 31, 2015 – you have been warned ahead. [Press Release]
