Well previously attempting to access the .se version of The Pirate Bay, the page would not load, but it looks like the website has come back online and now has a picture of a pirate flag waving in the background. The website’s domain also has a new IP address which according to reports is connected to a server in Moldova.
Unfortunately apart from the website finally working, nothing else seems to be functional. We’re not sure what this means and whether or not it will see a revival. Last we heard, if and when it ever comes back online, its creators have promised that it will do so “with a bang”. The folks at TorrentFreak have reached out for comments but have yet to hear back from The Pirate Bay or IsoHunt.
In the meantime it looks like knocking The Pirate Bay offline did little to curb piracy. A recent report revealed that torrent activity saw a slight dip following the website’s closure, but things quickly resumed as users found alternative websites.
