We heard recently that Samsung has a couple of new smartphones up its sleeve that are part of an entirely new lineup. With the Galaxy A3 and A5 we saw the company move towards a much more simpler naming convention, that’s likely to be the case with this new lineup, which reportedly consists of the Galaxy E5 and Galaxy E7. Specifications of both smartphones have been rumored today.
According to Sammobile, the Galaxy E7 is going to have a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 1,280×720 pixel resolution, a Snapdragon 410 1.2GHz processor with 2GB RAM, 13 megapixel rear camera with a 5 megapixel shooter in the front, 16GB internal storage with the option to expand externally and a 2,950mAh battery. This smartphone will be just 7.2mm thin.
The second device, Galaxy E5, is said to have a 5-inch Super AMOLED HD display, a 2,300mAh battery and an 8 megapixel rear camera. Rest of the specifications are same as that of the E7. This device is rumored to come in at just 6.9mm thin. Both of them will run Android 5.0 Lollipop from the get go.
Even though there’s no word on these smartphones having metal bodies, the scribe’s source claims the batteries in these smartphones will be non-removable. It is unclear at this point in time when Samsung is going to unveil the E5 and E7, a good guess would be that we might have to wait until early 2015 before there’s any official movement on these devices.
